StarVie Eternal 2027 Review: Sanyo’s signature, written in defense
Sanyo’s signature plays like Sanyo: a wide sweet spot, no wrong answers, and power you earn shot by shot. The Eternal is the racket the most complete player on tour puts his name on, and the chart mirrors the man: a 0.06 spread across three profiles, with defense reading first. Nothing here is loud, and nothing is missing.
The spec sheet first. New hybrid mold with a medium balance, declared at 350–370 g, an 18K Carbon Hybrid face with the Spin Boost Tech finish and M-Eva Balance foam inside. The V-Force bridge and the HexaCell frame hold the structure, the Aerodrive profile keeps the swing quick, and the Power Balance rubbers in the box move the balance point at home. Stiffness reads 55/100 on our bench scale.
Sweetspot 8.0 ranks fifteenth among the 63 teardrops we have tested. Defender 7.76 · Hybrid 7.71 · Attacker 7.57: a 0.06 spread, the third flattest chart among the StarVie frames we have scored this season.
On court
How the StarVie Eternal 2027 plays
A sweet spot that answers every question
Here is the signature. The face forgives the contact that drifts high or wide: blocks keep their depth, the chiquita stays on line, and the off day stops costing you the set. Sweetspot 8.0 stands fifteenth among the 63 teardrops we have tested, and Control 7.8 confirms it from the baseline. The 18K hybrid weave keeps the answer consistent across the whole face, which is exactly what a complete player’s racket owes you.
Quick in the hand, kind to the arm
The Aerodrive profile and the medium balance keep the head moving: Maneuverability 7.7 covers late recoveries and fast net exchanges without a swing change. Comfort 7.7 comes from the M-Eva core, the A-Shock handle and the Z-Shock grip working together, and over a long match the elbow notices the difference against the harder frames of this line. Sanyo plays three hours; his racket is built for the same shift.
The smash is a job, not a gift
The weakest column tells the story. Power 7.4 sits in the lower half of our database: above the shoulder the ball leaves clean only when your mechanics bring the speed, and the frame adds placement instead of free velocity. Spin 7.5 is honest work from the rough finish, biting on the víbora when the wrist snaps and staying quiet when it does not. Earned winners, never donated ones.
Shot by shot
Shot by shot
- Baseline: real forgiveness on the long rally; Sweetspot 8.0 turns the rushed contact into a playable ball.
- Volleys: clean with a compact swing; Control 7.8 keeps them threaded through the middle.
- Bandeja: deep and steerable; the medium balance lets the wrist set the depth.
- Víbora: honest bite from the rough finish; Spin 7.5 rewards the snapped wrist.
- Smash: worked, never gifted; Power 7.4 means your arm signs the winners.
Technology
What did Sanyo actually ask for?
A racket with no wrong answers. The hybrid mold stretches the hitting zone without chasing the diamond’s violence, and the V-Force bridge with the HexaCell frame keeps the structure square at 55/100 stiffness. That is where Sweetspot 8.0 and Stability 7.6 come from: geometry and reinforcement doing the work that foam alone cannot. The Aerodrive profile keeps the swing from feeling the 360 g declared midpoint.
The adjustment kit is the second signature. Power Balance rubbers move the balance toward the head or the handle, the longer A-Shock handle calms the impact, and the Z-Shock grip cleans what remains. Our numbers were taken in the stock configuration, which is the one we would keep: the whole point of the Eternal is a frame that covers the court instead of specializing in one corner of it.
Player fit
Who should buy it, and who shouldn’t
The complete player who builds the point
Defender 7.76 tops a chart with a 0.06 spread: every profile sits close, so the racket plays your whole week. You construct the point from the right side, finish when the chance is real, and you like tuning the balance yourself. Sweetspot 8.0 covers the off day; Comfort 7.7 covers the third set.
The free-power hunter
Power 7.4 never closes a rally by itself, and above the shoulder the frame asks for a full arm and clean timing. If your plan is to end points with one swing, the Black Titan Blue 2027 is the sibling built for that job. The Eternal wins matches the long way, like the man on the badge.

The verdict
Verdict 7.8: the complete signature
The arithmetic is transparent: base 7.76 from the winning Defender profile, no excellence bonus, no consensus modifier this time, because independent measurements are still missing. The Eternal 2027 is the honest mirror of its signature: a wide sweet spot, a kind arm bill and power that must be earned. If your padel covers the whole court, this is the StarVie that covers it with you.
FAQ
Frequently asked questions
What is the PadelVerdict score for the StarVie Eternal 2027?
The overall score is 7.8, built from a base of 7.76 with no consensus modifier and no excellence bonus. Profiles: Defender 7.76 / Hybrid 7.71 / Attacker 7.57, a 0.06 spread that defines a complete frame. Sweetspot 8.0 ranks fifteenth among the 63 teardrops we have tested.
Where does the Eternal sit inside the StarVie 2027 collection?
At the top of the range, next to the signature frames. On the brand’s declared specs it shares the 18K Carbon Hybrid face and the M-Eva Balance core with the Raptor+ Red, with a hybrid outline instead of a teardrop and a slightly lower declared balance. Same shelf, a different read of the same brief.
What is the actual weight of the StarVie Eternal 2027?
The declared window is 350–370 g, and we have no independent scale reading yet, so treat that range as the reference. The Power Balance rubbers move the balance point by a few millimetres, so the feel in hand depends on the setup you mount.
Is the Eternal 2027 good for intermediate players?
Very much so. Our taxonomy spans Beginner and Intermediate with an Intermediate primary, and Sweetspot 8.0 plus Comfort 7.7 is the reason: the frame forgives the learning curve instead of taxing it. The only real homework is generating your own speed above the shoulder.
Which rival makes sense if the Eternal 2027 feels short on power?
The Kombat Fuji 2026 strikes firmer at Verdict 8.0, though it gives back spin and some forgiveness. For the full parameter map before you commit, open the head-to-head with the Bullpadel Ionic Light 2026.
