Babolat Technical Veron Juan Lebrón 3.1 2027 Review: the level head of the family

VERDICT 8.0CONTROL 7.8PLAYABILITY 7.9ATTACKER 7.92

For 2027 the Lebrón collection gains a third door. The Technical Veron Juan Lebrón 3.1 is the first Veron to wear El Lobo’s colours, and it plays like the level head of the family: same diamond mold, same 270 mm balance, but a Carbon Flex face and an elastic Black EVA core that hand out power for free at 360 g.

Refresh rules apply, with a caveat: the direct predecessor in our database is the Technical Veron 3.0 2026, same architecture without the signature dress. Our card lands at 8.0, and the profile is the story. Three columns within two tenths of each other make this the flattest chart of the collection.

Lineage

What actually changes 2026→2027

The architecture carries over from our Technical Veron 3.0 review, and the gaps below read mostly as the evolution of our proprietary scoring algorithm, plus a season of play the launch card never had. What the 3.1 actually adds is the signature dress and the family context.

  • Mold and balance: unchanged, diamond shape at 270 mm with a 38 mm profile.
  • Face: the same Carbon Flex weave, carbon and fibreglass in one sheet.
  • Core: the same elastic Black EVA, the liveliest foam of the collection.
  • Frame tech: Dynamic Stability System, Holes Pattern System and Syntec Pro grip carry over.
  • What is new: the Lebrón colours on a Veron for the first time, and the third door into the collection.
Parameter 2026 2027 Δ Why
Power 8.6 8.3 -0.3 The current algorithm weighs a high balance against a flexible face more soberly; the easy depth is real
Maneuverability 7.2 7.6 +0.4 The lightest frame of the family at 360 g, and a season of handling signals confirm it
Comfort 7.4 7.7 +0.3 The elastic core and the fibreglass half of the face filter more than the launch card credited
Sweetspot 7.3 7.0 -0.3 The shape’s honest limit: off-centre contact still dies toward the frame, and the methodology says so
Playability 7.4 7.9 +0.5 Follows the friendlier composite; this is the easiest chart of the three siblings
Stability 8.2 7.9 -0.3 A flexible face flexes at full exchange speed; the current weights record it
Verdict 8.1 8.0 -0.1 Base 7.92, no excellence bonus, plus 0.1 of consensus for spec consistency

Control and spin stay inside the noise band and off the table. The 2026 page was scored with a previous version of our algorithm: part of every gap is the methodology evolving, not the product moving.

Attacker 7.92 · Hybrid 7.73 · Defender 7.68: a 0.19 spread, with an attack-to-defence gap of 0.24 that sits inside the tightest fifth of the 184 frames we have scored. Power 8.3 comes free from the Carbon Flex face.

On court

How the Babolat Technical Veron Juan Lebrón 3.1 2027 plays

CONTROL 7.8PLAYABILITY 7.9

The diamond that stays calm

Playability 7.9 ranks sixth among the 91 diamonds we have scored, and Control 7.8 keeps the big swing honest: the face does not turn wild when you accelerate, and blocks come back with interest instead of altitude. The 0.24 gap between the Attacker and Defender profiles tells the same story from another angle. This is a diamond you can defend with, and that sentence almost never gets written.

POWER 8.3SWEETSPOT 7.0

Easy power, honest ceiling

The Carbon Flex face gives depth away: the elastic core does half the work on smashes and víboras, so Power 8.3 arrives without the rigid, dry touch of the standard Viper. The ceiling shows up in two places. Sweetspot 7.0 is still a diamond’s sweet spot, and contact that drifts high toward the frame loses its nerve. When you need the last gear of violence, the 9.2 of the Viper 3.1 lives in another drawer.

Shot by shot

Shot by shot

  • Baseline: the quickest of the family off the glass; Maneuverability 7.6 keeps the salida de pared honest.
  • Volleys: Stability 7.9 holds up to pace; the lively face asks for soft hands on the slow ones.
  • Bandeja: Control 7.8 keeps it low and deep; the Carbon Flex grips the slice without turning it wild.
  • Víbora: Spin 7.6 is honest work from the 3D Spin finish; the ball kicks off the glass when the wrist snaps.
  • Smash: Power 8.3 is free depth, not a hammer; the closing shot still wants your full arm.

Player fit

Who should buy it, and who shouldn’t

✓ MADE FOR

The intermediate stepping into attack

Attacker 7.92 leads a nearly flat chart, and that flatness is the gift: no column falls below 7.0, so nothing punishes you while your game grows teeth. You want a diamond that attacks without confiscating your defense, and a face that helps on the days your timing is human. Playability 7.9 and Comfort 7.7 are your two signatures.

✗ NOT FOR

The finisher who wants a hammer

If your smash is already a closing argument, the easy power of the Carbon Flex will feel like a compromise: Power 8.3 gives depth, not brutality, and the lively face spends energy you would rather keep. The Viper 3.1 reads 9.2 on that column for a reason. Pure defenders should look at a round mold instead.

The verdict

Verdict 8.0: the sensible Lebrón

The arithmetic: base 7.92 from the winning Attacker profile, no excellence bonus, plus 0.1 of consensus for spec consistency across markets. The Veron 3.1 is the Lebrón racket for the rest of the draw: it keeps the diamond’s attacking grammar, softens every edge, and asks the least of your arm. Not the headline of the collection: the one most people should actually play.

FAQ

Frequently asked questions

What is the difference between the Veron 3.1 and the Technical Veron 3.0?

The signature dress: for 2027 the Veron joins the Lebrón collection with the same mold, face and core as the 3.0. Our verdict moves from 8.1 to 8.0, and the 2026 page was scored with a previous version of our algorithm, so that tenth is our methodology evolving, not the product moving.

What is the actual weight of the Technical Veron Juan Lebrón 3.1 2027?

The declared figure is 360 g with a ± 10 g tolerance, the lightest of the three siblings, with no independent scale reading yet. The balance stays high at 270 mm, so the head still leads the swing even at the lower weight.

Is the Veron 3.1 good for intermediate players?

It is the one we would hand to an intermediate first. Our taxonomy sits right on the Intermediate and Advanced line, and the chart explains why: no column below 7.0, Playability 7.9, and a face that helps when contact is human. It grows with you instead of auditing you.

Veron 3.1 or Viper Soft 3.1?

Two kinds of friendly. The Veron gives free depth from a livelier face; the Viper Soft 3.1 is calmer and more tolerant, with the stiffer response of carbon. If your timing comes and goes, pick the Veron. If it is stable and you want a firmer strike, pick the Soft.

Which rival makes sense if the Veron feels too small at contact?

The Bullpadel Pearl 27 brings the wider sweet zone at Verdict 8.1. For the full parameter map before you commit, open the head-to-head with the Pearl 27.
