Bullpadel XPLO 27 Review: maximum power, itemised bill
Some rackets evolve. Others break away. Bullpadel files the XPLO 27 under the second kind, and for once the brochure undersells the thing. The geometric head packs its mass into 507 cm², the balance climbs to 27.0 cm, and the XPLO Core² frame turns all of it into the hardest hit we have tested, and your arm signs the bill.
The spec sheet first. The declared weight is 365–375 g, with no independent measurement published yet: we treat it as a 375 g racket until our scale says otherwise. Stiffness reads 72/100, firm but no longer the 80/100 wall of the XPLO 2026 we tested this spring. This review replaces our first-look page on the same address, with the full test now done.
Lineage
What actually changes 2026→2027
The rebuild is real: six millimetres more balance, 3K carbon in place of 12K, a triple-density core, a smaller face. The score gaps against our XPLO 2026 review also reflect the evolution of our proprietary scoring algorithm, which now weighs mobility and tolerance harder. Read the deltas as both.
- Balance: 264 mm → 270 mm, the highest declared figure in the Pro Line.
- Face: Xtend Carbon 12K → X-Tend Carbon 3K, more elastic at contact.
- Core: double-density MultiEVA → triple-density MultiEVA, softer inner layer.
- Playing surface: 535 cm² → 507 cm², the smallest of the 2027 range.
| Parameter | 2026 | 2027 | Δ | Why |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Power | 9.0 | 9.4 | +0.4 | More mass high, XPLO Core² leverage |
| Maneuverability | 7.4 | 6.5 | -0.9 | Balance up, face smaller; our current algorithm weighs mobility harder |
| Sweetspot | 7.2 | 6.7 | -0.5 | 507 cm² is a smaller target, honestly scored |
| Comfort | 6.8 | 7.1 | +0.3 | Triple-density core and 3K face soften the blow |
| Playability | 7.1 | 6.8 | -0.3 | The composite follows maneuverability down |
| Verdict | 8.5 | 8.7 | +0.2 | Base 8.36, excellence +0.2, consensus +0.1 |
Control, spin and stability move less than 0.3 and stay off the table. The 2026 page was scored with a previous version of our algorithm: part of every gap is our methodology evolving, not a leap by the product.
Power 9.4 is the highest score we have ever published; Maneuverability 6.5 is the lowest among the 86 diamond rackets we have tested. Attacker 8.36 · Hybrid 7.43 · Defender 7.14: a 1.22 gap that picks a side and never apologises.
On court
How the Bullpadel XPLO 27 plays
Overhead, the court shrinks on command
The mass sits above the ball and the triple-density core answers with a fast, dry exit: smashes leave flat, with no trampoline to manage. The first full swing tells the whole story, because ball speed arrives early in the arc and keeps building through contact. Stability at 8.7 is the silent partner here. The Hexature frame and the diagonal reinforcements in the heart refuse to twist, so even contacts an inch outside the centre hold their line. Power 9.4 is the highest score among the 176 rackets we have tested, and on court it feels like exactly that.
Víbora with teeth, touch with a clock
The 3D Grain face bites when the wrist works: the víbora kicks off the glass and the sliced bandeja stays low. The same texture adds sideways kick to the slice serve. Lazy contact gets nothing for free. Control at 7.4 sits two tenths below the 7.6 of the 2026 frame on paper; on court the 3K carbon and the softer inner layer add a breath of dwell time, so blocks and chiquitas land where you aim them. Placement players still pay a tax: the high balance punishes late preparation, and defensive lobs want a full, committed swing.
The bill arrives in fast hands
Maneuverability 6.5 is the lowest among the 86 diamond rackets we have tested, and quick net exchanges are where you feel it: the head arrives late unless the swing started early. The sweet spot is small, high and honest about it. Comfort 7.1 softens the story without changing it; Playability 6.8 closes it: this frame asks for finished mechanics and a fresh shoulder, point after point. Wall play tells the same truth, since off-the-glass recoveries need the face already in place. Two games are fine. Three sets are a fitness test.
Shot by shot
Shot by shot
- Baseline: defence is survivable, never easy; Control 7.4 holds only with compact swings and early feet.
- Volleys: crisp and heavy when prepared, late when not; Maneuverability 6.5 is the tax collector here.
- Bandeja: the frame does not twist at full arm; Stability 8.7 keeps the ball deep and on a leash.
- Víbora: Spin 7.8 bites if the wrist snaps; the 3D Grain rewards technique instead of replacing it.
- Smash: the reason this racket exists; Power 9.4 sends flat, fast exits with no trampoline effect.
Technology
What does XPLO Core² actually change?
The heart of the frame carries a double diagonal reinforcement up top and two structural arms below, wrapped in a Hexature tubular thickened by 3 mm. The effect is measurable in our numbers: Stability 8.7 with a balance this extreme is engineering, not luck. Shrinking the face to 507 cm² concentrates mass where the smash lives, and that is where Power 9.4 comes from. The Custom Weight plates can push the balance even higher; our advice is to leave them in the box, because Maneuverability 6.5 has no margin to give back.
The comfort stack is the real revision. Triple-density MultiEVA puts a softer layer between two firm ones, the Wave System² lets the frame flex and return on slow balls, and Vibradrive plus Ease Vibe filter the handle. Bullpadel claims up to 60% vibration absorption for the dampeners; our elbow reads Comfort 7.1, better than the 6.8 of the 2026 frame, still a firm racket by any honest standard. The Air Power channel, widened by 50% over the old Air React Channel, keeps swing speed from collapsing under the head mass.
Player fit
Who should buy it, and who shouldn’t
The advanced attacker with a fresh shoulder
Attacker 8.36 is the peak of the chart, and the 1.22 gap to Defender says the identity is settled. You play left side, you finish above the shoulder, you prepare early because your game already told you to. Power 9.4 and Stability 8.7 give you the loudest overhead we have scored this season. Your elbow has no history, you train enough to keep the shoulder honest, and your technique does not need the racket’s permission.
Intermediates, defenders, tender elbows
Defender 7.14 is the honest floor: reactive digs and fast counters arrive before the head does. Maneuverability 6.5 punishes late hands, Sweetspot 6.7 punishes late contact, and Comfort 7.1 still asks for a healthy arm. Anyone building technique will spend the match fighting the frame instead of reading the rally. A round or drop frame with a wider face wins you more points today. If any of that sounds familiar, the XPLO CMF 2026 keeps the family look with a far kinder syllabus.
The rivals
The rivals
Three diamonds from our database share the same parish: attacker profile, Verdict within 0.4, same generation. Each takes a different road out of the same corner.
NOX AT10 Genius Attack 12K Alum Xtrem 2026
Verdict 8.7 · Attacker 8.42
Same verdict, same power parish. Comfort reads 7.1 against its 6.4: seven tenths that over three sets separate finishing fresh from finishing sore.
Adidas Metalbone HRD 2026
Verdict 8.8 · Attacker 8.52
The adjustable-weight answer to the same question. It keeps Verdict 8.8; the XPLO answers with Comfort 7.1 against 6.2, nearly a full point of arm relief.
Oxdog Ultimate Pro 2026
Verdict 8.5 · Attacker 8.35
The forgiving road to the same parish. Sweetspot 7.6 against our 6.7: it gives back nine tenths of margin and asks for less perfection at contact.
The verdict
Verdict 8.7: the loudest racket with the narrowest gate
The arithmetic is transparent: base 8.36 from the winning Attacker profile, +0.2 excellence bonus for two parameters above 8.5 with Power past 9.0, +0.1 consensus for specs that agree across every channel we checked. Nothing is hidden, nothing is gifted. The XPLO 27 is the most extreme attacking racket we have scored this season, and it charges for the privilege in mobility and margin. If your overhead game is already a weapon, this is the upgrade. Everyone else is buying a bill.
FAQ
Frequently asked questions
What is the PadelVerdict score for the Bullpadel XPLO 27?
The overall score is 8.7, built from a base of 8.36, a +0.2 excellence bonus and a +0.1 consensus modifier. Profiles: Attacker 8.36 / Hybrid 7.43 / Defender 7.14. The 1.22 spread between Attacker and Defender is the identity of the racket in one number. Power 9.4 and Stability 8.7 do the heavy lifting; Maneuverability 6.5 explains the gate.
What is the difference between the XPLO 27 and the XPLO 2026?
Balance climbs from 264 to 270 mm, the face switches from 12K to 3K carbon, the core gains a third density and the surface shrinks from 535 to 507 cm². Our 2026 page was scored with a previous version of our algorithm, so part of every score gap reflects an evolving methodology, not a sudden leap by the product.
What is the actual weight of the XPLO 27?
The declared range is 365–375 g and no independent measurement exists yet: every figure in circulation is manufacturer data, ours included. Given the 27.0 cm balance, treat it as a 375 g racket in practice, and budget 5–8 g more with an overgrip. We will update this page once our own unit hits the scale.
Is the XPLO 27 good for intermediate players?
Honestly, almost never. Our taxonomy tags it intermediate-advanced with an Advanced primary: Playability 6.8, a small high sweet spot and a 270 mm balance ask for finished mechanics. A strong intermediate can grow into the XPLO CMF 2026 first, build repeatable overhead mechanics there, and revisit this frame a season later.
Which rival makes sense if the XPLO 27 feels too demanding?
The Oxdog Ultimate Pro 2026 gives back nine tenths of sweetspot (7.6 against 6.7) at Verdict 8.5. If the arm is the concern instead, the XPLO’s own Comfort 7.1 already beats the Metalbone HRD by 0.9, and the head-to-head comparator shows the full picture, parameter by parameter, before you commit.
